A woman was left shaken after robbers assaulted her and stole her Range Rover in car park in Ponteland.
Two men attacked the woman, aged in her 40s, outside the Memorial Hall on Darras Road at around 7pm on Thursday September 19.She was left with minor injuries and needed hospital treatment.
The Range Rover was later found by police at Ann Street in Blaydon, 10 miles away.
Police are looking at CCTV footage from the area.
Northumberland Chief Superintendent Dianne Winship said: "This type of offence is extremely unusual for the area and we have extra officers in Ponteland speaking to people and identifying any witnesses.
"The victim was left very upset and shaken by what happened and it's important that we catch those responsible as soon as possible.
"Detectives are out identifying possible CCTV opportunities between Ponteland and Blaydon and there are forensic enquiries being carried out inside the vehicle, however, we really need to identify any witnesses.
"We need to speak to anyone who saw a Range Rover that may have been driving erratically or looked suspicious between Darras Road and Blaydon between 7pm and 8pm.”
